Songs
Rest in me
Let me take you away from here
To another place
Where we can live lives free from fear
In the light of love's face.
Let me take away your pain
And heal your wounds;
I will give you life again
Enter into my womb.
I am love, I am truth,
I am all that you need;
Come to me, trust in me,
Let your soul rest in me;
Safe in the arms of love.
Let me mend your broken wings;
I would see you fly.
Oh how your melodies ring
As you sing your songs from on high.
I am love, I am truth,
I am all that you need;
Come to me, trust in me,
Let your soul rest in me;
Safe in the arms of love.
Behind the Music
This song is basically what I felt God was saying to me at a time in my life when I was feeling low. It echoes the sentiments found in Matthew 11: 28-30, where Jesus invites all who are weary and burdened to come to him and find true rest and peace.
For me the song remains a reminder that Jesus loves us, knows us and wants to restore us. It's also a reminder that he is really all that we need, which kinds of echoes the ideas found in Luke 12: 22-32.
